Ihsh-445 Dobby Cloth Short Sleeve Mechanic Shirt

Made from a 10oz indigo/black Japanese dobby-woven cloth, this short-sleeved shirt pairs a unique made-to-fade fabric with the retro styling of the mechanic cut.

Dobby weaving is a traditional technique dating back to the mid-1800s. By attaching a piece of equipment known as a “dobby” to the loom, the yarns can be manipulated during the weave to create a thicker, heavily textured fabric. Unlike our all-indigo dobby cloths, this fabric is woven with an indigo rope-dyed warp yarn and a black sulphur-dyed weft,. Since the fabric’s three-dimensional surface exposes more edges than a twill or plain weave, you can expect high-contrast electric blue fading that highlights the intricate geometric texture.

Bearing all the hallmarks of our traditional mechanic cut, this model provides a relaxed, well-ventilated fit — with features including snap fastenings, flap-down chest pockets, a straight hem, split seam gussets, and internal red bobbin thread for a pop of colour.
